management accounts programmes available for farmers today. With ever-tightening margins
within agriculture, farmers are looking for ways of increasing their efficiency of
business management. This programme is designed to help you not only with your regular
book-keeping, but also gives you, using a variety of reports for gross margin analysis,
Profit & Loss, budget against actual figures the facility to manage the business with
greater awareness. The Farm Accountant may be unique in its ability to work either
on the standard Cash-book basis where transactions are recorded as they are paid or
received, or on the Invoice basis where bills and invoices are recorded as they arise. The
beauty of this programme lies in its simplicity of operation. All the menus are written in
plain English, with logical choices and structure, and not a printed manual in sight, as
context-sensitive help is on-line at all times should you need it. All analysis is done
from lists appearing on the screen and no reference tables are needed to enter product
codes. As invoice taxes are now used in many countries (Value Added Tax in the UK),
such taxes are handled as part of the invoice or receipt. The Farm Accountant will
enable you to analyse any of your main income and expenses headings into subheadings thus
allowing you to pin-point cost centres (e.g. individual vehicles or machines) or to
separate different prices for varieties of the same crop. As the programme is pre-set to
recognise which entries require further data, it will prompt you for the appropriate
information, like number of tonnes or ask which enterprise is involved. It is, of course, with annual accounts that the value of a computerised accounts system is really appreciated, as you have the ability to calculate and analyse the figures in ways to help you run the business more effectively and profitably. The Gross Margin system of enterprise analysis is built into the programme and shows how each area of the business is performing in relation to the rest. Search and list facilities are available to track down individual entries or types of entry. In addition, as there is no fixed year-end, annual figures may be produced every month or at any time to give early notice of trends in profitability. |

ability to store data for upto 15 lactation's per cow and upto 1000 cows in a single herd

facilities of herd yield predictions, quota tracking and financial monitoring make this
programme invaluable to any dairy farmer hoping to capitalise on the changes taking place
within the dairy industry. Over the years, Datag has listened very closely to the opinions of both pedigree and commercial dairy farmersand has built in many of those suggestions made. There has also been much input from dairy specialists to ensure it covers every aspect of management from individual animal records, young stock and full fertility information to PTA figures, production analysis and herd planning. Links are also provided to read disc information from National Milk Records Datastream, Scottish Livestock Services milk records and other milk data services. Links are also available for some computerised parlour systems. Without the use of the NMR Datastream, the task of entering all the herd information onto a new dairy system to get started can be a very daunting one, but for those who do not this type of information, we have developed the Easi-Entry system. This requires only five details per cow to have sufficient data for the programme to work, with the system devising default data for historical records until the user has time to enter the other information. It does mean, though, that a herd of 100 cows can be up and running in an hour, producing useful action reports and analysis. |

computerising your farm record keeping, Agridata is the answer. Its a very comprehensive,
easy to use farm record keeping computer programme. It has been developed with help from
farmers, is as up-to-date as possible and in a constant state of development, reflecting
new regulations as they come into force. Although initially developed with the beef and
sheep farmer in mind, Agridata now has provision for dairy farmers. Agridata is available
for Windows 95, Windows 3.x and MSDOS. Agridata is a complete programme - no additional
modules to purchase. New MAFF requirements are dealt with promptly and updates
distributed. It integrates with another very useful programme - Money Manager - so, as you
record a sale or purchase (of livestock, medicines etc.) in Agridata, Money Manager is
updated. This is very useful for producing farm accounts and VAT reports. The good
management and efficient running of your business depends upon the quality of information
you have at your disposal. Agridata will produce over 40 different reports, viewable on
screen or printed. For claims and applications, MAFF has approved the attachment of
Agridata's printed output to the official form. All you need to do is check, sign and date
both of them and submit the documents. Agridata will give you peace of mind knowing that your records are up to date and in the correct format. It can save you money by ensuring that you are able to claim premium on the maximum number of cattle and sheep without going over stocking density limits. If you have ever missed out on beef special premium because animals have reached 21 months without being claimed on, then Agridata would definitely have saved you money. Tractability is an important factor in building and maintaining consumer confidence. Good record keeping will improve the management of your farm and is important to provide you and your customers with an accurate record of your stock. Agridata has a list of nearly 800 drugs and their withdrawal periods. It will apply this information and issue a warning if this is likely to affect the animal's saleability if, for example, it will be over 30 months old when the withdrawal period ends.
