The year started off with our 70th Anniversary Dinner and Dance, which proved to be a throughly enjoyable night for all and current members were as well behaved as expected, with Stuart Bird, Johnny Ward and Ashley Luke missing each other so much they decided to share their main course with each other, with it soaring across two tables and many people ending up covered in potatoes!!!
The result of this night was not only a lot of clearing up to do but a profit of £872.
We then had a very colourful party for 4 of our members; Joe, Johnny, Lurch and Ashley who flew off to Tailand for a fortnight before flying over to New Zealand, with 2 returning after the Lions tour and the other 2 still lost out there somewhere!
As always YFC Balls are always a great success with Frome members, most remember arriving but few remember the return, and lots of gossip is provided the next morning just to remind everyone of thier drunken stunts of which they pulled the night before!!!
Then how can we forget, our Fosse Group 'Best of British' Rally. The Rally proved a huge success for all, and we had tremendous success in the calf show with, Karina Heritage coming 2nd, Stuart Perkins coming 3rd and Lisa Walwin coming 4th in the continental Heifer class. Stuart also had two 2nds in the animal out of a dairy breed so well done stu!
and very well done to all who were competing or who was helping out with running the event.
Thank you also to James for chairing and providing us with an excellent rally.
Frome held a fund raising Whist Drive event and raised aronud £200 for the Air Ambulance. So well done to eveyone who helped out with that.
Finally i have to say, i truly can't believe how quickly this year has gone! All the best to this years committee, and i hope we have a very successful 2006!
