JUMP ROPE FINALS - CANCELLED

MIXED HOCKEY (14-17)

This competition is being held at King Alfred’s School in Highbridge on Sunday 15^th January from 11am.  For competition rules click  HERE . Deadline for entries is Wednesday 11^th January 2012.

MACHINERY SHOW – BATH & WEST SHOWGROUND

Would any YFC members like to come along and help out at the stand Somerset YFC will have at the Machinery Show at the Bath & West Showground on Wednesday 1^st February. We are using this opportunity to promote Somerset YFC and hopefully recruit new members. FARM FIRE SAFETY TALK

Wellington & Taunton YFC are hosing the farm fire safety talk on 9^th February at the White Horse, Bradford on Tone at 8pm. All clubs are invited to attend. It will be a very informative and interesting talk so they would welcome as many attendees as possible. For more information contact Tom Bell on 07772 854722.

DAIRY COW LAMENESS EVENING

Wellington & Taunton YFC are hosting an evening with Steve Paul, local foot trimmer, which will include a practical session and is being held on Thursday 2^nd February for venue and more information contact Tom Bell on 07772 854722.

FINAL DRAFT OF THE HANDICRAFT SCHEDULE IS NOW AVAILABLE!

Exciting news!  The Handicraft Schedule for the MOOLYMPICS Rally of 2012 hosted by Severn Group is NOW AVAILABLE.   The document can be viewed electronically via the weekly update by clicking HERE  and on the SFYFC website!  (Please note that Clubs will not be sent a hardcopy of the Handicraft Schedule unless requested).   If anyone has any difficulties accessing the document or printing the document out please do not hesitate to contact either This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.  The Schedule that has currently been released is the FINAL DRAFT and members now have the opportunity to look through the Schedule in detail and start planning their entries in order to win points for their CLUB!  
 Should any member foresee any problems with a particular class, wish to request an amendment, or propose any changes to the handicraft schedule then they should again contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   no later than WEDNESDAY 11th JANUARY 2012 when the FINAL HANDICRAFT SCHEDULE will be released. On WEDNESDAY 11th JANUARY 2012 the entry forms for the Handicraft Classes will become available in a separate document.  If possible it would be our preference that this year all Handicraft entry forms are completed and submitted electronically. However, handwritten entry forms will be accepted.

MIXED VOLLEYBALL (18-26) – EXTENDED DEADLINE

This competition is being held at Bridgwater College from 7.30pm on Wednesday 18^th January. For competition rules click HERE . We have extended the deadline so that late entries can be accepted due to lack of entries at the current time. Deadline for entries is Wednesday 11^th January 2012.

MENS 7-A-SIDE RUGBY FINALS

This competition will now be held at Yeovil Recreation Centre, Yeovil Athletics Arena, Turners Barn Lane, Yew Tree Park, Yeovil (please take a note of the new venue) on Sunday 29^th January from 11.00am. For competition rules click HERE . Deadline for entries is Friday 13^th January 2012.

11-A-SIDE HOCKEY

JUNIOR MEMBER OF THE YEAR (UNDER 17) & SENIOR AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR (18-26)

This competition is being held at the Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare on Sunday 19^th February at a time to be confirmed. For updated competition rules click HERE . Deadline for entries is Friday 20^th January 2012.

NATIONAL AGM

Reminder letters will shortly be sent out to those on the list wishing to attend the National AG. If you still require a place please ensure that the form and payment is returned by the deadline for payment on 27^th January 2012 so that if places are not paid for the people on the reserve list will get a chance to book a place. If you no longer wish to attend please let County office know as soon as possible so the place can be allocated to those on the waiting list.

PANTOMIME

Will all clubs/groups that have entered please ensure that a list of cast members, title of pantomime, script and risk assessment are at County Office NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 3^rd FEBRUARY 2012. A booking form is now available on the Somerset YFC website. To download please click HERE  and return to Somerset YFC County Office with payment before 17^th February 2012.  

SOUTH WEST AREA WEEKEND

The South West Area weekend is being held at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare on 9^th-11^th March 2012. A booking form and programme can be found HERE . Anyone wanting to attend this weekend must be a paid up member of a club by Friday 27^th January 2012 and membership numbers provided on the form or tickets will not be issued. Deadline for ticket payment is February 3^rd 2012. Booking forms have already been received from some counties so please be aware of the deadlines and submit forms as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as after the deadline tickets will be allocated to counties that are already oversubscribed.

EXMOOR YFC DISCO

Exmoor YFC are holding an Army themed disco in aid of Help for Heroes on Friday 13^th January 2012 at North Molton Sports Hall from 9pm to 1am. Tickets £5 if fancy dress £7 if not.

CHEW VALLEY YFC SNOWBALL

Chew Valley YFC are holding their Snowball at the Webbington Hotel, Axbridge in Saturday 21^st January 2012. For more information click HERE . FARRINGTON GURNEY NAKED CALENDARS

Farrington Gurney have produced 2012 calendars and they are available for £7.99 each with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer & Prostate Cancer care. They are available at - Avalon Guns, Farrington Farm Shop, Mendip Shooting Ground, Tesco in Shepton, Wells and Norton Radstock, and several smaller shops around the Mendip Area.
